The Intern, UX Design and Communications will be responsible for assisting the User Experience (UX) Design team with daily tasks including UX research collection and analysis, developing mockups/wireframes/prototypes, documentation of process, and developing brand guided visual communication decks.

Position Description

Position Summary:

The Intern, UX Design and Communications will be responsible for assisting the User Experience (UX) Design team with daily tasks including UX research collection and analysis, developing mockups/wireframes/prototypes, documentation of process, and developing brand guided visual communication decks. The Intern will be encouraged to ask questions, apply their own expertise and have a voice for UX recommendations. While this is a mentorship position, success is measured through the learning experiences gained and the dedication to strengthen our external influence and brand through world-class customer experiences.

The Intern, UX Design and Communications is an hourly (20-40 hrs a week), remote, non-exempt position and reports to the Manager, UX Design.

Specific Responsibilities:

·       Assist the UX Manager and Design team with providing cross-departmental design support.

·       Support and development of visual presentation decks.

·       Assist in Research initiatives, including development of research scripts, observational notetaking, and evaluation of data.

·       Creation of design artifacts (Graphic design, mockups/wireframes, prototypes) and documentation of process.

·       Other projects as assigned.

·       Some travel may be required for in-person research.

Skills: 

·       Proficient in Visual and Graphic Design.

·       Proficient in User Experience Research.

·       Proficient in Communication Design.

·       Analytic capabilities to compile and interpret data for trends, market changes, intersection with other related initiatives.

·       Ability to proactively learn new and challenging content areas and distill information to broader audiences.

·       Ability to simultaneously perform multiple assignments and follow extensive work plans.

·       Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

·       Excellent writing skills with the ability to translate into formal presentations as needed.

·       Excellent interpersonal communication skills and collaborative spirit.

·       Proficient in Figma, Maze, and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Experience:

·       Student level understanding of UX Design Universal Principles.

·       Student level understanding of Nielsen Usability Heuristics.

·       Student level understanding of UX Research Best Practices.

·       Design Portfolio that communicates skill level.

Education:

·       Undergraduate degree in process or completed with focus in UI/UX and Graphic Design preferred.
